San Francisco Airship Acoustic

The Jefferson Airplane was born out of the American Folk Movement and that's where their music and sound was born.

SFAA is a four piece vocal group that brings back the early days of the Jefferson Airplane just as they did acoustically.

SFAA is great for acoustic venues or as an easy opener for shows where moving equipment is an issue. The vocal harmonies, and beautiful 12 string guitar and violin, create a soothing mood that is easy to enjoy.

Airship Acoustic is about keeping Jefferson Airplane’s music alive. We grew up with their music and maybe you did too. But we’ve discovered in performance that it’s relevant to people who weren’t around for the original band. We started out as a full electric band, San Francisco Airship. But we know that the root of their music was in folk, blues and acoustic live performance. And, we’re not just performers, we’re fans. So we do our best to honor the spirit of the original music. We’re not trying to duplicate it so much as resurrect it. We’re bringing it back with the full force that only live music can do. We’re Airship Acoustic. Come along with us.

2019 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF WOODSTOCK

San Francisco Airship Acoustic celebrates this generational moment in history with their exciting recreation of when the Jefferson Airplane played Woodstock complete with light show. Your audience will feel the energy that SFA shares at every performance and that special memory that everyone takes home with them with hits White Rabbit, Somebody To Love and more.

SFAA’s “Sur-Realistic Lights” light show sets the stage with vibrant colors and designs. Audiences all over the San Francisco Bay Area came to shows last year at ATT Park Giants Game, Golden Gate Park De Young Museum, Bob Weir’s Sweetwater Music Hall and others.

SF Airship Acoustic made the front cover of the entertainment section of the SF Chronicle twice.

Band members include members of Big Brother & The Holding Co., The Tubes, New Riders, Johnny Rivers, Blue Cheer to name a few.
